In a world where top talent seeks meaning as much as career progression, businesses are redefining what it means to lead with purpose. For organizations committed to their ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) and CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) mandates, corporate volunteering has emerged as a powerful, strategic lever.
As companies look for ways to build workplaces where people feel connected to a deeper cause, corporate volunteering has become one of the most powerful ways to unite teams, grow leaders and create high-impact social change.
At Bevel ON, we facilitate these high-impact partnerships by connecting corporate professionals with opportunities to use their specialized expertise for meaningful social missions. We believe in partnerships where business goals and social impact strengthen one another, unlocking both human and organizational growth.
A New Approach for High-Impact Partnerships
“Partnerships rooted in purpose create the strongest impact. They grow from trust, shared vision and the desire to create real value for everyone involved”, explains Iryna Prushko, Partnerships for Goals Lead at Bevel ON, “When employees volunteer their professional skills, they don't just support the community and wider social mission, they develop critical leadership, cross-cultural collaboration, and problem-solving skills that benefit the organization directly”.
Unlike traditional volunteering, skills-based or professional volunteering connects employees with opportunities that match their expertise: project management, HR, finance, marketing, data analysis, coaching, mentoring and more.
This model creates verifiable benefits:
- Social Impact: Vulnerable communities (specifically, individuals with refugee and migrant backgrounds) receive high-quality, professional guidance and capacity building from experienced experts
- Talent Development: Employees build essential leadership skills, empathy and a deeper sense of corporate purpose, significantly boosting engagement and retention
- Corporate Value (ESG/CSR): Companies strengthen their commitment to measurable community impact, enhance their social metrics for ESG reporting, and build a reputation as an employer of choice.
For Bevel ON, this approach is particularly powerful in driving integration and professional reinvention for people with refugee and migrant backgrounds. Access to experienced mentors and volunteers helps these individuals navigate the Swiss job market with more confidence, clarity and connection.
Case Study: Procter & Gamble (P&G)
Strengthening Mentorship as a Continuation of Bevel ON’s Capacity Building Programme
One of the most successful examples of professional volunteering in action is Bevel ON’s collaboration with Procter & Gamble (P&G).
Over the past year, P&G employees have supported the evolution of our Mentorship Programme, which extends the transformative journey of our Capacity Building Programme graduates. What began as a pilot quickly transformed into a structured, strategic programme thanks to the experience, insights and contributions of P&G volunteers.
Through a series of workshops, feedback sessions and mentoring engagements, P&G colleagues helped refine key programme elements, matching processes, feedback loops, volunteer onboarding, communication flow and goal-setting practices. Their engagement enhanced both the experience for participants and the ease of involvement for future mentors.
“Working with Bevel ON reminded us that leadership goes far beyond the office. Supporting individuals who are rebuilding their lives showed our employees how impactful their expertise can be in a completely different context, fostering a deeper sense of purpose”, says Claude Ehretsmann, Director of Public Affairs at P&G.
“This partnership strongly aligns with our corporate values: inclusion, leadership and sense of belonging. Bevel ON’s structured and human-centered approach made it easy for our teams to contribute with purpose”, added Bilgehan Ergenekon, HR Senior Director.
The Value for Mentors and Participating Companies
While this article highlights P&G’s contribution, Bevel ON’s collaborative ecosystem includes volunteers from various companies and organizations across Switzerland. Engaged members consistently share how valuable the experience is for their own development, often describing it as:
- “A reminder of the power of human connection”
- “An excellent way to practice inclusive leadership”
- “A very rewarding experience: learning from the mentee - it's always a two-way process”
These insights reinforce our belief that professional volunteering is not just social good, it is also professional growth, inclusive leadership training and a bridge between the private and non-profit sectors.
Our Approach to Building Partnerships
Bevel ON is intentional about building long-term, trust-based partnerships with companies. We focus on shared value, mutual learning and openness, creating opportunities that benefit communities while allowing corporate teams to learn, grow and contribute meaningfully.
"When companies join us, they become part of a community that believes in resilience, professional growth, and human potential", says Iryna Prushko. "We don’t just seek one-off engagement, we invite partners to co-create measurable and lasting impact together".
This strategic approach enables every collaboration to be unique, yet structured, easy to integrate into existing CSR initiatives, and designed to produce measurable outcomes that contribute to your company's social goals.
